Sgt. Chat Reports Drug Arrests


Sgt. Chad Payne is information officer for the Dade County Sheriff's Office.

On Tuesday, April 23, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Dade County deputies went to a residence on Strawberry Lane in attempts to locate a subject with outstanding warrants.

Upon the arrival of deputies, two subjects were found standing outside the residence. One of the subjects was identified as the male with outstanding warrants, and the other was a female.

During the arrest, the male subject was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, as well as drug-related objects. The female subject was also found to be in possession of narcotics and drug related objects. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Dade County Jail, where they are currently still incarcerated.

Joshua P. Reed, 37, of Trenton, was charged with

  • Cruelty to Children – 1st Degree (Warrant)

  • Battery (Warrant)

  • Possession of Methamphetamine

  • Possession of Drug-Related Objects.

Amanda S. Hernandez, 32, of Trenton, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 4 Controlled Substance

  • Possession of Marijuana

  • Possession of Drug-Related Objects.

  • All subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
