In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 18, a Dade County deputy was dispatched to the Pilot Travel Center on Deer Head Cove Road to check out a suspicious male in the parking lot. Upon the arrival of the deputy, he located the male and found that he was from out of town and had nowhere to go. The deputy elected to give the male a ride to the Dade County Sheriff’s Office lobby, where he provided the subject with food, water and temporary shelter until he could find somewhere to go.
While at the Sheriff’s Office, the subject went outside and allegedly entered the vehicle of a Dade County detention officer. It is also believed that the subject then left the sheriff’s office and entered at least four more vehicles around Trenton, causing extensive damage to at least two of those vehicles.
At around 10 a.m. Saturday, a Dade County deputy who is also a full-time Trenton Police Department officer located the subject at a gas station in Trenton where one of the vehicles was damaged, and he held him until the arrival of a Trenton PD officer. The subject was then taken into custody by the Trenton PD and booked into the Dade County Jail, where he is still being held on a $10,000 bond.

Entering Auto with the Intent to Commit a Theft or Felony (three Felony Counts).
All arrestees are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in a court of law.
