The Georgia State Patrol on Friday evening released the following report on Thursday's fatal
I-24 accident in Dade County. The Planet republishes it here verbatim, as follows:
On May 30, at 11:35 p.m., a trooper was dispatched to a reported head-on crash on Interstate 24 West near milemarker 3 in Dade County. While en route, a trooper was notified that one of the drivers involved was deceased and that there were two other injuries from the collision.
During his investigation, the trooper learned that a 2009 Ford Focus driven by Jessica Yarber, age 28, of Rossville, was traveling east in the westbound inside lane. The Focus struck a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Elizabeth Wilson, age 31, of Wildwood. Ms. Yarber was deceased at the scene. Ms. Wilson and a juvenile passenger were transported to a Chattanooga hospital for treatment. A 2017 Volvo tractor-trailer was also involved in the collision, as it was struck by the Jetta after the initial collision. This is all the information we have at this time.
