Our first children’s Summer Reading program is this Thursday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m. Students will learn some of the science behind robotics and will be able to move several robots around the room, including robotic arms and robots with camera attachments, similar to the Mars Rover. If you haven’t already, get your kids signed up for Summer Reading by going to our website at chrl.org and click on the icon that says Summer Reading Register Now.
You will also be able to download the Beanstack app which will allow you to scan the ISBN number on your child’s books and keep their reading log online. This summer’s theme is A Universe of Stories.
The program for June 13 will be Marc Griffiths, a hilarious and inspirational ventriloquist. That program will also begin at 10:30.
Our first teen program will be on Tuesday, June 11, at 5:30 p.m. This program is for kids in grades 6-12. The program is Night Sky Star Painting and this is an acrylic painting class. Come and learn to paint a northern night sky with us! All materials
are provided.

We have book bags for sale for $2 for all those books your family will be checking out for Summer Reading. They have the logo for this summer’s program: A Universe of Stories.
We have the summer reading lists for Dade County Schools, K-12. Check and see what your kids need to read. Some are available now, and others can be borrowed through PINES.
The Book Club for adults meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the library. In June will be discussing Born a Crime by Trevor Noah, host of The Daily Show. This book is the story of his life, growing up in South Africa.
We had an interesting visitor at the library today. His first name is Trenton and he is visiting all the Trentons in America. He says there are 27 of them. He asked us to tell him what was unique about the area and what would make good pictures. We mentioned Cloudland Canyon, the Lookout Mountain Flight Park, the Southeast Lineman’s Training Center, the Castle in the Clouds and a few more, along with some
restaurants. We interviewed him, too, which he might not have expected. We gave him a map and some souvenirs and sent him on his way to Trenton, Ala.
