Whatever Your Age, We've Got a Summer Reading Program for You!

We had 16 people in our cake pop class last week and 12 for our Book Club. Our next Adult Summer Reading Class will be on photography. It will be on Tuesday, July 9, at 5:30 p.m. You will get a crash course in photography. This will include basic settings, exposure, light to dark settings, composition and layout. Mark your calendar if you are interested.

This week’s Kids’ Summer Reading Program is the very popular Tommy Johns. His program features unusual puppets, crazy comedy, magic and audience participation to show how books can magically let readers meet all kinds of people, have all kinds of adventures and learn to do all kind of things! This show is one of our most popular. It will be on Thursday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m.

There will also be a teen program on Thursday, June 27, at 1 p.m. Tommy Johns will be teaching a class on how teens can start their own business. There will be a special prize drawing for this event. Space is limited, so please call and sign up for the class.

Lego Expo was, as usual, a popular Summer Reading program.

The library will be closed on Thursday, July 4, to celebrate Independence Day, so there will not be a Summer Reading program that day. However, just to keep things from getting dull that week, we will have a program on Tuesday at 6 p.m. This will be a Family Yoga Program and it’s open to all ages.

Here’s a little preview of our July programs. There will be three programs that kids can participate in: Family Yoga on July 2 at 6 p.m., a Moon Gazing Party on July 12 at 8:30 p.m., and a Science Fair on July 18 at 10:30 a.m. For tweens and teens: Galaxy Tie Dye, July 9 at 5:30 p.m., Teen Shirt Decorating, July 16 at 5:30 p.m., and Tweens Book Club, July 23 at 3 p.m. For Adults: Book Club, July 16 at 7 p.m., discussing The Pale Criminal by Philip Kerr, and a local author’s book signing on Saturday, July 20, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

And of course, all ages are welcome at Family Yoga on July 2 at 6 p.m. More information on these programs later.
