DCSO Tries to Make Swimming Hole Safer

Sgt. Chad Payne

These signs were placed at the swimming holes on Sells Lane in attempts to make the area a better place for families just trying to relax, as a result of recent events that have taken place in the area, and numerous citizen complaints.

Dade County Sheriff's Office deputies have been instructed by Sheriff Cross to patrol the area frequently and assist in making it a safer place. Sheriff Ray Cross wants everyone to know, that this new effort isn't to discourage people from using the swimming holes but to prevent incidents like what happened on the video that circulated Facebook this last weekend, from happening again.

Sgt. Chad Payne is communications officer for the Dade County Sheriff's Office. The video he refers to is presumably the "Tommy Lee Stop!" cellphone footage of a man beating another man rolling on the ground on the creekside that has recently made the rounds.
