Free Aftercare at Rising Fawn Baptist Beginning First Day of School

Having trouble paying for after-school care? Do you sometimes let your young children go home to an empty house because you can't afford the after-care program at school? The people at Rising Fawn Baptist Church want to help.

Beginning on the first day of school, the church will provide FREE after-school care for children between the ages of 5 and 13. Each day will include a snack, Bible study, time for homework and play. The children will be watched from the time they get off the school bus until 6 p.m.

This is primarily for those who struggle to afford the after-care program at school or those who must send their children home to an empty house, but others will be accepted subject to demand--so the sooner you register, the better.

For more information please contact the church at outreach@rfb.church, or you can call or text me, Tony Moreland at (423) 227-9997.

Editor's Note: The Planet checked with Superintendent Jan Harris of Dade County Schools, who said that the system does have an aftercare program at Dade Elementary School and hopes to implement one at Davis Elementary soon. The DES program keeps children only until 5:30 p.m. and costs $8 a day, $40 a week. Dr. Harris said the school system hopes to get some information about the aftercare program on its website fairly soon.
