The Dade County Schools Leadership Team learned about balanced leadership in four areas, faith, family, finance and fitness, from David Powell at a recent professional learning day. David is anowner/partner at the Southeast Lineman Training Center.

He holds a B.S. in business administration from Auburn University, with his major in marketing. David was a walk-on safety during two seasons for the Auburn Tigers. He served on the Dade County Board of Education for six years and is currently a board member at Chattanooga Christian School.

David is married to Tami Powell and they have two boys, Preston, 16, a rising junior at CCS, and Hudson, 12, a rising seventh-grader at CCS.

David is a firm believer that success in anything first requires a belief in yourself. David is often training for various events that push his mental and physical limits. He has completed events including SEALFIT’s Kokoro Camp, WARRIOR WEEK, multiple marathons, obstacle races and century rides, and he is always looking for new challenges.

His desire to help others experience the same breakthroughs led him to co-create and co-found the AWAKENING, an 8- to 10-hour event to push individuals through self-imposed limits they have placed upon themselves. David’s passion in life is coaching, training and motivating others to reach their full potential.
