Yes, we have all kinds of books, audiobooks and movies that may be checked out at the library, but that is not all we have available. We now have novelty cake pans which can be checked out. They may be checked out for one week with one renewal. Some we have available are heart shape, Strawberry Shortcake (the character), Holly Hobbie, The Gingerbread Man, Elmo, bunnies (three to a pan), trains (six to a pan) and Superman. If you have some pans you don’t use any more and would like to donate, check with us.
The library also now has three telescopes that can be checked out. They may be checked out for a week at a time.
It’s still September and it’s still Library Card Sign-up month. With your library card you have access to thousands of books, park and museum passes, DVDs, technology and more! Library cards are free for Georgia residents or for those who work in Georgia or own property in Georgia. Out-of-state patrons pay $25 a year for a card. Get a card or renew your card and be put in a drawing for a gift card.
Thursday, September 26, at 4 p.m. there will be an activity for teens ages 13 to 18: School Spirit Tie Dye. This is tie dye in school spirit colors. Please RSVP by calling 706) 657-7587 so that we will have enough materials.
We will have Trick or Treat on the Square on October 26 starting at 5:30 p.m. We are asking our local businesses and organizations to come out and help us give the children a safe place to trick-or-treat. Each business or organization will need their own table, tent and candy/treats to give out to the children. Last year we had over
1000 children come to the event so we are asking booths to be prepared for 1000 to 1500 children. Please call the library if your group would like to reserve space for a booth.
