New Titles at the Library--Check 'em Out!

Here’s another update on new books. We now have: The Last Widow by Karen Slaughter, Old Bones by Preston and Child, The Road Home by Richard Paul Evans, The Long Call by Ann Cleeves, We Rule the Night by Claire Elizabeth Bartlett, Backlash by Brad Thor, Lost and Found by Danielle Steele, and Kremlin Strike by Dale Brown. More next week.

The Dade County Historical Society will hold its regular quarterly meeting at the library on Saturday, October 12, at 10:30 a.m. Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend.

Remember, if your church, business or organization wants to set up a booth for Trick or Treat on the Square, please call the library at (706) 657-7857 to sign up. You will need to have candy for about 1500 kids.

Our Book Club is reading The Corpsewood Manor Murders in North Georgia by Amy Petulla for this month’s meeting. This is a nonfiction book written by an attorney about a double murder in neighboring Chattooga County that took place in the 1980s. The author will be with us to discuss and answer questions about her book. It’s a quick read and anyone interested is welcome to join us.

The Middle Grades Book Club will meet on Tuesday, October 15, at 4 p.m. to discuss Natalie Lloyd’s Over the Moon.

Linda Wilson is everybody's favorite retired English teacher and a faithful library volunteer.
