Single-Vehicle Crash Kills Hicks

Following is the Georgia State Patrol report on the Friday single-vehicle crash that killed Charles Hicks of Rising Fawn. The Planet publishes it here verbatim. An obituary of Mr. Hicks is on The Planet's home page

On 10/18/19, at 1715 hours, a Trooper was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Cloverdale Road in Dade County. Upon his arrival, he discovered that a 1999 Dodge truck had been traveling east on Cloverdale Road. The vehicle traveled off the north side of the roadway and struck a tree. Witness stated the vehicle had no steering or braking input from the driver before impact. The driver has been identified as Charles Hicks, 80, of Bible Camp Road in Rising Fawn, GA. Mr. Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dade County Coroner. GSP Crash report #41-0205-19 is not complete.
