We had a very interesting Book Club meeting this month discussing The Corpsewood Manor Murders with author Amy Petulla (below). Petulla is an attorney who worked for the District Attorney’s office in Chattooga County before going into private practice. She practiced law for 20 years and is the author of another book, Haunted Chattanooga. She is also the owner of Chattanooga Ghost Tours and she told us some about that as well.
Our November book for the Book Club is The President is Missing by James Patterson and Bill Clinton. It is a political thriller that offers several scary possibilities. Read it and join us on Tuesday, November 19, at 7 p.m. to discuss this book.
There will be another kids’ cooking class at the library on Tuesday, November 5, from 6 to 7 p.m. The class, Healthy Cooking for Good Living, is free.
Don’t let the month end without joining the Friends of the Dade County Public Library. Dues are only $10 a year. If you are a new member, please fill out a membership form at the library and leave it with your money. If you are renewing your membership, you don’t need to fill out another form, but be sure we get your name and email address.
If you are a library card holder, you have a PINES card that is good at all the PINES libraries across the state of Georgia. PINES will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2020, and we are celebrating with a patron-designed library card. We want you to show us what PINES has meant to you or your community through your design. The winning design will be used on the special 20th anniversary edition PINES library card across Georgia. The winner will receive a $100 Amazon gift card.
To enter, come by the library and pick up an entry form or enter online at georgialibrary.org/pines-contest. The deadline to enter is November 15.
