Superintendent Announces Public Hearing Thursday for HUNCH Project


Dr. Jan Irons Harris, Superintendent of Dade County Schools, is proud to announce that the Dade County School District will hold a public meeting to give the citizens of Dade County an opportunity to become acquainted with the project at Dade County High School regarding a high-end 3D carbon fiber printer.

Dade County High School would like to partner with NASA HUNCH in the efforts to develop prototype parts for the space station and for the revolutionizing Moon-Mars concepts and trainers. DCHS would also be involved in the development of the new innovative flight replacement parts for Army helicopters utilizing carbon fiber capabilities.

The district is eligible for funding for this project through the United States Department of Agriculture. This meeting will give citizens an opportunity to become acquainted with this project and comment on different items, such as economic and environmental impacts, and any other issues identified by Rural Development.

Citizens are invited to the public meeting at the Dade Board of Education, 52 Tradition Lane, Trenton, GA, 30752 on the following date and time:

November 7, 2019, 6 p.m.
