The DeKalb County (Ala.) Sheriff's Office has now released the identify of the fifth and final victim of last Thursday’s fatal trailer fire in Flat Rock. Cody Alexander Dove, 27, of Flat Rock, was identified by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. The sheriff's office says Dove was the boyfriend of Kayla Jackson, who lived at the residence and who died in the Dec. 19 fire along with three of her young children.
The sheriff's office is still investigating the fire and awaiting the determination of the Fire Marshall. Spokesman Tyler Pruett promised updates as soon as there is new information.
A memorial service for the young mother and three children was to have been held today, with a graveside ceremony Tuesday at Payne Gap Cemetery.
