The library will be closed for Christmas Tuesday-Thursday, December 24-26, and will reopen on Friday, December 27. The library will also be closed on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1. Books and movies may be dropped off in our book drop at the corner of the building if we are closed.
There will be no Ready-to-Ready class the week of Christmas, as the library will be closed on Thursday of that week. We will be open on January 2, and there will be a Ready-to-Read class that morning at 10:30 a.m.
The Dade County Historical Society still has 2020 calendars for sale. These feature pictures of historical churches in the county, along with a little information about each. They are $10 each!
Are you going to make reading more your New Year’s Resolution? Want to include reading in your child’s winter break plans?
Let us help motivate you this winter! For the first time, our libraries will be hosting a Winter Reading Challenge! We challenge children and adults of all ages to read at least 20 minutes a day, five times a week, through the month of January, for a total of 500 minutes.
The reading challenge kicks off December 21, so get registered now! Go to chrl.org to register for #WinterRead2020. If you joined us for our Summer Reading Program this year, you’ll use the same login and password to access your Beanstack account.
(Having problems accessing your old account? Our library staff can help!)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Friends of the Dade County Library!
