Sgt. Chad Payne is information officer for the Dade County Sheriff's Office.
On January 12, at approximately 4 p.m., a Dade County deputy observed a vehicle in the 1900 block of Highway 299 that contained a subject she knew had outstanding warrants.
After conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle, the deputy confirmed through dispatch that the passenger, Nicholas S. Foster, 20, of Chattanooga, had 13 active warrants through Hamilton County, Tenn. One of those warrants was for felony aggravated assault, while others were theft-related.
After a brief investigation by the deputies, they were also able to locate the whereabouts of a stolen vehicle in Tennessee.
Foster was taken to the Dade County jail and has now been transferred to Hamilton County.
