The Dade County Sheriff's Office's seventh annual fundraiser was held on January 18. Today, Sheriff Ray Cross awarded the proceeds from this year’s event in the amounts of $5,000 apiece to the Children’s Advocacy Center and the Hand

Up Ministry. "These are two very worthy recipients that are helping our Dade County residents," Sheriff Cross said in a press release today.

The Children's Advocacy Center of the Lookout Mountain Judicial District is an agency that provides services for victims of child abuse and their families in Dade and its neighboring counties. Hand Up is a program of the Trenton Ministry Center that helps people reintegrate into community life and work after having been incarcerated.

In the past seven years, the DCSO Fundraiser has donated over $138,000 to charities and ministries for the Dade County Community.
