Come to Free "Kiss the Ground!" Program Thursday at the Library

On February 20 at 6 p.m. there will be a program at the library called Kiss the Ground! It will be presented by Keith Bien. The purpose of the program is to inspire participation in global regeneration, starting with soil. Bien will talk about how farmers are improving their land and making more profit and how to restore life to agricultural soils with atmospheric carbon. The program is free. If you have any questions, call the library at (706) 657-7857.

Here are a few of the books in our new books display: The Testaments by Margaret Atwood, Knaves over Queens by George R.R. Martin, A Better Man by Louise Penny, Smoke Screen by Iris Johansen, Lost Hills by Lee Goldberg, Outfox by Sandra Brown, Miracle at St. Andrews by James Patterson, Moral Compass by Danielle Steele, Checkpoint Charlie by Iain MacGregor, Out of the Attic by V.C. Andrews, and King of Kings by Wilbur Smith.

I am in the middle of reading our Book Club book for March and it is fascinating! The book is Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell. So far I’ve learned why we often don’t detect when we are being lied to and why it really isn’t that hard to be a spy. It’s a very thought-provoking book and I think anyone would benefit from reading it.

I’m listening to the audiobook, because a review of the book recommended that. In many cases, Gladwell uses recording of real people to make his points. You will learn a lot!

We do have federal tax forms 1040 and the instruction booklets that come with it and

they are free. We can print Georgia forms from a website, but we have to charge 25 cents a copy for any copies we make.
