The entire family has a chance to try something new at our Leap Day Lunge at Cloudland Canyon State Park! To celebrate Leap Day this year, we are offering two different volunteer-led trail experiences in the park this Saturday starting at 10 a.m. We are encouraging everyone to do something different this special day that only comes every four years.
Have you only done the waterfall trail to see our majestic falls? Why not try the Sitton’s Gulch Trail instead? Christy Davison has hiked this trail on a weekly basis for the past year and she will lead you through Sitton’s Gulch to the base of the waterfalls. This is a strenuous hike but has many picturesque views along the way. You'll see a few early wildflowers but make sure and come back in the spring when they're blooming full force. If you are interested in trying out this trail, please enter at the Sitton’s Gulch trailhead located in Canyon Park Estates.
Interested in mountain biking instead? Join Stephanie Fischer on the Cloudland Connector Trail. She is very familiar with these trails and works for our co-sponsor, Battlefield Outdoors. There are a limited number of mountain bikes for rent available in the park but Battlefield Outdoors can assist you in maintaining or even purchasing a new mountain bike to explore our trails further. If you are interested in exploring mountain biking, please meet at the Cloudland Connector Trailhead.
Cloudland Canyon offers hiking, biking, pond fishing, disc golf, picnicking, camping and Interpretive Center programs. Plan to spend the whole day in the beautiful outdoors!
Admission is free to our program but if you don’t have an annual pass, there is a $5 per vehicle Georgia State Park parking fee.
Cloudland Canyon State Park is located at 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Road in Rising Fawn, Ga.
