Editor's Note: This is an open letter from Vikki Mills, a candidate for the Georgia House of Representatives District 1 seat.
Dear Friends,
We are living in trying times. Many of us have lost our jobs. Friends are falling ill. Churches are closed and businesses are suffering. None of us have ever lived through times quite like these.
This pandemic is our test of how our actions and Christian response will serve others. Often when a calamity befalls us, we turn inward to protect ourselves and our family members. But we cannot forget those without any family to care for them. I urge all of us to take time to reach out and minister to those in need. It should always be our response as Christians to serve others less fortunate than ourselves.
How do we find people in need? Contact your pastor, neighbors, and other associates to identify who is in need. What can we do? Bring groceries to those who are shut in. Send care packages with the essentials. Contribute to your favorite local businesses and charities that are already struggling. They need your help too!
If I have the honor of winning the people’s vote to become your Republican candidate for Georgia House District 1, I am committed to ensuring that conservative and Christian values are defended at the State Capitol. I will defend the unborn at all costs. I will always defend your right to self-defense. And I am determined that our community’s small businesses and top employers receive all the support they need in the recovery to come. It is times of difficulty that give us the opportunity to be the best we can be by offering talent, treasure and words of encouragement to the vulnerable. May this time be fruitful as we find new ways to stay connected and show our love for one another. Stay safe with your family, friends and neighbors. God bless you and yours.
