This week’s Ready-to-Read program will be about the moon. In-person programs are on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Be sure to sign up. Call the library to check on the virtual program if you don’t want to come into the library.
The Cloverbuds, the 4-H program for kids in third grade and under, will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, both virtual and in-person. Call the library at (706) 657-7857 or the extension office at (706) 657-4116 for more information.
The changeover from RBDigital to Overdrive for ebooks, audiobooks and magazines should have taken place last week on October 1. If you have any problems accessing your electronic library, check with the library staff.
Our Halloween activities will take place on Saturday, October 24, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Dade County High School parking lot. Trick or Treat will be by drive-thru this year.
We have many patrons who use our PINES system to get books from other libraries in the state and we are now getting those deliveries three times a week instead of two, so that should help get your books to you more quickly. You may access your account online from anywhere to put books on hold, or ask the staff to do it for you. You must have a card to use this service.

A free tutoring program at your hometown library has been launched. There are tutors available at all four branches, Dade, Chickamauga, Lafayette and Rossville. You can pick up directions for scheduling a tutoring session at the library, or follow these directions:
Go to chrl.org/tutor to access our online booking software 24/7.
Pick a location. You can choose a tutoring session for any one of our four branch libraries.
Pick a teacher. Read the bios carefully to choose the tutor who best suits your needs. None a good fit? Try another location.
Pick a date and time. Choose a date on the calendar, and then a time that works for you. Enter your contact info to complete the appointment. We ask you to have only three sessions on the calendar at one time.
Get tutored! Come to your appointment! If you must cancel or reschedule, please give notice. Cancellations without notice may lead to expulsion from the program.
