RISING FAWN, Ga.--James Ricky Cannon, 68, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016. He was born June 3, 1948, in Fort Payne, Ala. Ricky served his country in the U.S. Army and was employed by Georgia Power Company for 37 years.

He loved his family and friends and enjoyed traveling and music throughout his life. Everyone who knew him loved his wonderful sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Haynie Cannon.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sue Cannon; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jamie Cannon, Rock Spring, Ga.; daughter, Emily Cannon of Asheville, N.C.; grandchildren, Cash Cannon and Camden and Chance Tinsley; his sister and her husband, Phyllis and Joey Faircloth, Cedar Bluff, Ala.; three nieces and a host of friends.

A celebration of his life will be Friday, Oct. 21, from 6-8 p.m. EDT at Cloudland Canyon State Park, Group Shelter #1.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dade County Library in Ricky’s memory.
