HIGDON, Ala.--Wendell Nelson Gass, 67, died December 7, 2016. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. A welder by trade, he worked with AVS in Tiftonia. Mr. Gass was a member of the Magby Gap Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Maddox and Jonny Maureen Gass; brothers, H.M. Gass and Cordell Gass; and sisters, Cathy Bishop, Maxine Baker and Meredith Carrell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marie Gass; sons, Michael (Renee) Gass and Steven (Amy) Gass; five grandchildren, Colten, Katie, Calum, Stephen and Brayden; three great-grandchildren; sister, Glenda (Lloyd) Troxtel; brothers, Gleason (Jeannie) Gass and Stevie Gass; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EST Saturday, December 10, in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Charles Brymer officiating. Interment will follow in Brown’s Gap Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday noon-2 p.m. EST.
