VALLEY HEAD, Ala.--Nellie E. Durham, 96, died December 14, 2016, in Fort Payne, Ala. She loved her family and enjoyed gardening, canning and quilting. She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Durham, and parents, Clem and Laura Daniel.

She is survived by her daughters, Becky (Freddie) Payne, Linnie (Clay) Eldridge, Mary (Fred) Brown, Thelma (Lewis) Nance and Connie (James) Maynor; sons, B.D. (Susie) Durham and Alvin (Sherry) Durham; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.EST Saturday, December 17, in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with B.D. Durham officiating. Interment will follow in Sulphur Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Zach Darnell, Kevin Cooper, Barry Eldridge, Robert Bailey, Gerald Bailey, Steven Nance, Drew Kirby, Brantley Romine, David Durham and Matthew Durham.

Visitation will be Friday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
