Dortha Guinn


Trenton, Ga.--Dortha “Nanny” York Guinn, 86, of Chattanooga, died Sunday January 1, 2017. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing.

She is reunited with her husband, R.L. Guinn; son, Levon Guinn; parents, Ralph and Bertha York; siblings, Iva Lee York Stephens, Ralph “Bud” York, Arvia “Shorty” York, J.P. York and Lebron York; brother-in-law, K.D. Prince, and sister-in-law. Juanita York.

Surviving include her loving children, Merley Guinn Richards of Chattanooga, David “Pete” “Gene” Guinn of Chattanooga, and Rena (William) Carruth of Trenton; grandchildren, Jonathan (Melissa) Baisden and Austin (Falishia) Foster; great-grandchildren Destany Baisden, Corey Baisden and Jeremy Foster; siblings, Amon “A.C.” (Doris) York, Curtis (Jo) York, Martha (Dan) Miller, Jeanette Prince and Larry (Janet) York; sisters-in-law, LoraLee York, Ethel York and LaMerle York; also, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, with Rev. Eddie Lowrance officiating. Interment will follow in Boydston Cemetery, Chattanooga. Family will receive friends 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Funeral Home.
