Vivien Hester



Trenton, Ga.--Vivien Karene Hester, 63, died on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. She was chief of Dade County Mountain Rescue, a volunteer firefighter with the Trenton Fire Department and a hair stylist. She had been part of the Dade County community for the past 40 years.

She was born in Thurso, Scotland and came to the States in 1976 with her husband, who was in the Navy at the time, and her oldest son. Vivien later remarried and had two more children. She was an avid animal lover and a passionate student of the Bible. Vivien leaves behind three children: Terry Dean Mathis (wife Doloris), Barry Hester (wife Cassie) and Jennifer Hester Hartline (husband Phillip); six granddaughters, Michelle “Mickey,” Alison “Ali,” Rhianna, Emma, Sydney and Lahna. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 7. The family will receive friends Friday, January 6, from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday, January 7, from 1– 3 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton. In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a contribution/donation to one of the following organizations: Dade County Mountain Rescue, Trenton Fire Department, your local humane society or Jeshovah's Witnesses.
