LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.--Irene Parker, 86, of the Ascalon Community, went home to be with her Lord and join her son and family on January 18, 2017. She was born April 6, 1930. Irene was a lifetime member of Ascalon Baptist Church where she taught the ladies’ class.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Parker Jr.; son, Michael Parker; parents, Waymon and Frances Wilkerson; sister, Audry Lewis; brother, Dural Wilkerson; and son-in-law, Eddie Avans.
She is survived by her daughter, LeeFran (Randy) Funderburk; grandson, Steven Avans; great-grandson, Hunter Avans; sisters, Jeri (Al) Beard, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Betty (Rusty) Wardlaw, Florence, Ala.; and Melinda Black, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Funeral services will be held a 1 p.m. EST Saturday, January 21, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother David Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Ascalon Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
