TRENTON, Ga.--Bonnie Aleene Porter Bearden, 82, died January 28, 2017. She was a loving mother, granny and sister whose pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed reading her Bible.
Aleene loved watching football and old westerns, fishing, gardening and cheering the Chicago Cubs to victory while watching the 2016 World Series.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Travis Bearden, and parents, William P. Porter and Bessie Jane Laney Porter.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra (Glenn) Steele, Trenton; Connie (Buddy) Tosh, Signal Mountain, Tenn.; son, Dale (Judy) Bearden, Flat Rock, Ala; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Kelley, Ider, Ala.; Daphne Kirkland, Fort Oglethorpe; brothers, Prentice Porter, Oxford, Fla.; Stanley Porter, Ider,; Doug Porter, Trenton; nieces, nephews and a host of lifelong friends.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Benjamin Young officiating. Burial will follow in Brown’s Gap Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday 4-8 p.m., Tuesday 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday 9-11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
