FLAT ROCK, Ala.--Meredith Jane “Nana” Price, 69, died in the early morning of February 8, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was known as “Nana” to all the children she has cared for at the Ider Christian Academy Day Care Center for the past 30 years, and she loved them as if they were her own. She is a member of Amazing Grace Church of God.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Cordia Hicks and J.M. and “Kat” Holt; daughters Denise Renea Price and Sandra Raines; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her loving husband, Isaac Price; daughters, Billie (Kenneth) Strawn and Melissa (James) Cottingham; sons, John (Angie) Price and Isaac (Angie) Price; six grandchildren, Brandon Strawn, Chelsea Strawn, Jerit Summers, Amanda Price, Aaron Price and Jordan Price; sister, Beatrice Anderson; brothers, Dennis Hicks and Stan Holt; the children of the day care center, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EST Friday, February 10, at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Frankie Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Highway 71, Dutton, Ala.
Visitation will be Thursday 2-8 p.m. EST and Friday 11:00 a.m.-2 p.m. EST.
