Charles Sterling Jernigan II


Charles Sterling Jernigan II, of Rising Fawn, born to Sterling H. Jernigan, MD, and E. Willetta Jernigan on August 26, 1944, died peacefully on February 20, 2017, at the age of 72.

Sterling was a veteran of Vietnam, earned his MBA from Georgia State University, and was project manager for payroll software for the state of Georgia. He was an Atlanta native until retiring with his wife of over 25 years, Shirley, to their beloved Lookout Mountain, Ga., in 2003.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, and his parents.

Survivors include his daughters, Melanie J. Blakey and Maggie B. Jernigan; his siblings, Ann Chalmers and William Jernigan; and his grandchildren, Sterling and Rosalind Blakey.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday, February 25, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
