Richard Simmons

Richard Simmons, 79, of Rising Fawn, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017. He retired from Calumet Steel Company of Chicago Heights, Ill., after 30-plus years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Peggy Jewel Carver Simmons; parents, George H. and Louise Ethel Aale Simmons; grandson Nicholas Paul Simmons; five brothers and one sister. Surviving include his children Timothy (Lisa) Simmons of Demotte, Ind.; Debbie (Andy) Kendera of Lowell, Ind.; Darla (Darren) Lingerfelt of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; Bufford “Gene” Hoffer of Benton, Tenn.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother. A Private memorial service will be held Thursday February 23. Arrangements by Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton.
