Billy Dairl Higdon, 83, of Bryant, Ala., died Wednesday, March 29, 2017. He was a retired truck driver who had worked for U.S. Pipe & Foundry. He was a 50-year member and 32-degree Mason, Olive Branch #297, Jasper, Tenn., and Bryant. He belonged to Bryant Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Dairl Higdon Jr.; parents, John and Willie Kennedy Higdon; and sister, Mary Higdon Brown.

Survivors include, his loving wife of 62 years, Helen J. Drew Higdon; daughter, Connie L. Higdon (Manuel) Whited; son, Rickey Dairl (Sherry Smith) Higdon; sisters, Martha Vaughn and Inez Guffey; four grandchildren, Ryan (Jamie) Higdon, Robyn Higdon (Reggie) Byrum, Duran Whited and Darrell Whited; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p..m. EST Saturday, April 1, in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Chad Smith and Brother Reggie Byrum officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will follow in the Hooker Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday 3-8 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. EST.
