Rev. Billy Hubert Rankin, 68, of Whiteside, Tenn., died Thursday, June 1, 2017. He was retired from U.S. Pipe after 30 years of service, afterwards serving as a pastor at New Bethel Church of God in Bryant, Ala., for over 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Genoma Dagnan Rankin; son Tracy Brent Baggett; two brothers and three sisters, including Patrica Ann Massengale and Claudia Melita Jones.
Surviving include his loving wife, Patsy Rankin, of Whiteside; daughter, Lisa (James Boydston) White of Chattanooga; son Billy Joe (Christina) Rankin of Whitwell, Tenn.; daughter Carolyn Leah (Danny) Cantrell of Whiteside; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. CDT on Sunday, June 4, at Whiteside Church of God with Pastor Doug Ramsey and Pastor Glen Key officiating. Interment will follow in Hooker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. CDT Friday and 1-8 p.m. CDT Saturday at Whiteside Church of God.
