Savannah Mae Holland



Savannah Mae Holland died Saturday afternoon, July 1, 2017. She had celebrated her 95th birthday on May 17. Better known as "Mamaw," Savannah was a strong, independent and loving woman. She was an avid gardener and the best cook in the world. She was known far and wide for her homemade chicken and dumplinsg, pinto beans and cornbread, peach cobblers and so much more. There was always a welcoming seat at her table for all. Savannah was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves us all with a lifetime full of happy memories. Savannah was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 68 years, Lester Holland; her parents, Jim and Della Stevens; sisters Ruby and Ollie; and brothers Jay, Henry, Jim, Ben, Vernon and Marshall Stevens. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Charles and Shirley Holland; daughter and son-in-law Wanda and Clyde Buck; sisters Ovella Brown and Lottie Henegar; brothers Doyle and Hoyle Stevens; grandchildren Ken Holland and wife Sandy, Angela Holland, Diana Holland, Britni Holland, Cara Holland, Charlie Holland, Michele Buck-Thomas and husband Benjy, Emily Buck-Butler and husband Ray, Jennifer Buck Wallace and husband Billy, Stephanie Buck-Ison and husband Matt, Jason Buck and wife Emily-Anne; 20 cherished great-grandchildren, Matthew, John Ryan and Kelsey Holland, Zane and Savana Joyeuse; Benjamin, Landry and Kayla Thomas; Jake, Landon, Brady, Madison, Colton and Caylee Butler; Buck Wallace; Liam, Finn and Oliver Ison; and Sullivan and Harrison Buck. A special thanks to Corrie, Beverly, Helen and Angelica at L&L Sweet Home Care for the special love and care you gave Mamaw throughout the last year and a half--you were a true blessing Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Henegar officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1–3 p.m. EDT on Monday at Ryan Funeral Home. Arrangements by Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, Georgia.
