Gloria “Doey” Thurman, 69, of Trenton, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2017. She owned G&J Tax Service with her husband for 13 years and was a member of Circle of Faith Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John Henry Thurman Jr.; parents, Jack Daniel and Lorene Gifford; and sister, Jackie Prince.
Surviving include her children, John (Cyndi) Thurman III, Tiffany (Charlie) Robertson and Tabatha (Greg) Hamilton; grandchildren, Brittney (Dylan) Mcintire, John Thurman IV, Lexi Moore, Layla Robertson, Gabe Bice, Kyra Bice, Camden Hamilton, Elizabeth Hamilton and Brandi Samuelson; great-grandchild Addie Mcintire; four sisters, Sharon Kay Brown, Candy Garner, Mary Ann O’Neill and Loretta Avans; two brothers, Frankie Gifford and Joe Gifford; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, in the chapel with Mike Howell and Doug Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens South. Family will receive friends 1-5 p.m. Sunday, 4-8 p.m. Monday and 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Ryan Funeral Home.
