David Joe Rogers



David Joe Rogers, age 64, husband of Beverly Rogers and a resident of Culleoka, Tenn., died Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, at his residence.

A funeral service was held on Friday, Sept. 8, at Heritage Funeral Home with Mike Roberts officiating. Entombment followed in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, located adjacent to the funeral home.

Born on Aug. 20, 1953, in Chattanooga, David was the son of the late Joe K. Rogers and the late Doris McCollum Rogers. He was a graduate of Dade County High School and married Beverly on April 8, 1994. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and retired from General Motors as an electrician. David enjoyed being outdoors, camping, and traveling. He liked Nascar and football and enjoyed his boat and truck. He loved his family and his dogs, Maggie, Sam, Max and Barker.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Keri (Ryan) Sides of Trenton, Courtney (David) Yates of Trenton, Dustin (Brandi) Rogers of Chattanooga, Ken (Ulrike) Hamby of Wartburg, Tenn., and Angela (Jason) Sims of Spring Hill, Tenn; brother, Kenneth (Hannah) Rogers of Trenton; and grandchildren: Carson, Dalton, Chloe, Brayden, Brody, Brooklynn, Amythest and Xander.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Neil Rogers.

Pallbearers were Ken Hamby, Kenneth Rogers, Jason Sims, John Marcrom, Carson Rogers and Ryan Sides.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project: 223 Rosa L. Parks Avenue #301, Nashville, TN 37203.
