James Morgan


James Floyd Morgan, 73, of Trenton, died on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017. Mr. Morgan had retired from Chattanooga Bakery, maker of Moon Pies, after 16 years of service. People loved James and James loved people, but most of all he loved his family. He was a member of East Brow Baptist Church.

He is preceeded in death by his parents, Rich and Jesse Morgan; brothers Malcolm, Troy, Talmage and Leonard Morgan; sisters Katherine and Vinta Ann; and grandchildren Madi Dickerson and Judah Witt.

Surviving include his brother and best friend, Malcolm Melvin (Wanda) Morgan, Roy (Janice) Morgan and Leon (Edna) Morgan; sisters, Pat Morgan, Jane Adkins and Wanda (Freeman) Crane. He was a second father to nieces and nephews Shelly (Dan) Kesler, Carla Dickerson, Corey (Jeremy) Witt and Dwaine (Lacey) Morgan; and Papa James to Jacob Kesler, Kayleigh, Hunter, Cooper Dickerson, Shane, Bailey, Bryson and Jude Witt and Avery Smith; and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at East Brow Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Smith and Bro. Scott Crye officiating. Interment will follow in Brown’s Gap Cemetery.

Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home and 2-4 p.m Monday at East Brow Baptist Church.
