Beth Allen

Elizabeth Renae Allen, or Beth, as she was known to almost everyone, died peacefully on the morning of Sept. 26, 2017.

Beth is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Allen, her father, William Guinn Allen, and her nephew, Samuel Guinn Allen.

She is survived by her daughter, Ansley Chilton, stepdaughters, Brooke Chilton and Brandi Womack (Tas), and four beautiful grandchildren. Beth also left behind her brothers, Bill Allen (Joyce), Tony Allen (Carroll) and Michael Allen; her sisters, Helen Cooper (Wayne), Vicki Mitchell (Steve), Patti Allen and Becky Worley (Bill). Also surviving are two generations of more than 25 adoring nieces and nephews who will forever remember her kindness, her grace and her jokes. In life, Beth burst with humor and light. She met challenge and adversity with courage, humor and wit. She was, perhaps, best known for her service to those in need. Be they victims of catastrophic weather or conditions of their own making, she had a heart for them. She gave of herself tirelessly and without complaint. To so many, she was a rock and a safe place, a warm and welcomed distraction from fear and sadness. For more than three decades she nurtured children at Pediatric Diagnostic. She served thousands of hot meals to victims and volunteers after tornadoes ravaged the valley. She took in strays, she baked casseroles and she donated money even when it meant going without. With an eye for beauty and a love of old things, Beth could turn a random pile of odds and ends into a treasured piece of art. Her capacity to love was boundless. She had a wide circle of family and friends who will miss her terribly. Services will be held at Trenton United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, with Reece Fauscett officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Ryan Funeral Home on from 4-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday.
