Bob Banks

Robert “Bob” Overton Banks, 69, of Higdon, Ala., died today, Sunday, Oct 22, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was a member of Flora Crest Southern Adventist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mildred Banks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Sue Banks; son, Charles (Rikki) Banks of Monroe, Ga.; stepsons, Freddy Sledge, Higdon, and Keith (Vickie) Sledge, Flat Rock, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary V. Banks of Charlotte, N.C.; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the Bryant chapel with Pastor Jason Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in the Kennemer Cemetery, Flat Rock.

Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8 p.m. EDT and Wednesday 10 a.m.-2 p,m, EDT.
