Iona Pennington

Iona Pearl Christopher Pennington, 95, of Trenton, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard A. Pennington; parents, John (Tom) and Ora Christopher; and siblings, Willie Christopher, Lawrence Christopher, James Christopher, Leon Christopher, Louise Weldon and Imajean Martin.

She is survived by her daughters, Faye (R.D.) Johnson of Ider, Ala., Jean (Garry) Tipton of Trenton, Brenda (Gary) Bell of Trenton; sons, Wayne (Ida Faye) Pennington, Ringgold, and Randy (Sheila) Pennington, Rock Spring; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; brother Cecil Christopher, Ider; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, in the Moore Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jim Lilley officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Gap Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday 4-8 p.m. EST and Sunday noon-2:30 p.m. EST.
