Kermit Buffington Sr.


Kermit Lee Buffington Sr., 83, died today, Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017. He was retired from Wheland Foundry after 31 years and was a member of Rising Fawn United Methodist Church. Kermit enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren. He trained horses, mules and beagle dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Winnie Buffington; grandchildren, Sydney Rumley and Alley Rumley; six brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his loving family: his wife, Dorothy Buffington; daughters, Diane (Ted) Rumley, Sharron (Mike) Frady and Marsha (Dale) Allan; son, Kermit (Amy) Buffington Jr.; sister, Jackie Byers; brother, Ben L. Buffington; eight grandchildren, Ted (Desiree) Rumley, Michael Garner, Dusty (Jacey) Rumley, Avery (Rachel) Sexton, Andria (Russ) Powers, Chris (Megan Haswell) Allan, Cory (Connie) Durham and Andrew Buffington; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friend.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Mike King officiating. Burial will be in Trenton Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday 10-11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to; Rising Fawn United Methodist Church Women, PO Box 66, Rising Fawn GA 30738.
