Daniel Brady


Daniel Alan Brady, 70, of Rising Fawn, died at his residence on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017. Mr. Brady was born May 6, 1947, in Dennis, Ohio, to Ben and Lois Brady. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, enlisting after graduating from Gnadenhutten High School and retiring as a weapons officer in nuclear subs with the rank of lieutenant commander in 1985. After retiring he was employed by NASA at John C. Stennis Space Center as a safety engineer in the Rocket Testing Lab, from which he retired in 2011. Mr. Brady was a member of Saint Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Council 7146, and American Legion Post 106.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Lois Brady.

Surviving include his wife, Sue Marco Brady of Rising Fawn; sons, Daniel A. (Billie) Brady Jr. of St. Stephens, S.C., and Joseph Brady of Meridian, Miss.; daughters, Arlene (Tucker) Watkins of Henderson, N.C., and Shannon (Jeff) Hughes of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren, Stephaine Snowden, Jazmin Brady, Anna Watkins, Acea Ange and Tristan Watkins; former wife and mother of his children, Irene Brady; sister, Linda (John) Capes of Dennison, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amvets Auxiliary 1338, 1400 Lake Road NW, Dover, OH 44622.

A memorial mass service will be held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 2, at Saint Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Trenton with Father Tom Shuler officiating.
