James Harold Davis, 79, of Trenton, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at his home in the New Home community. He was a member of the New Home Fire Department for 30 years. Mr. Davis retired from Roadway Express as a truck driver with over 22 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who had served in the Korean War. Mr. Davis was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his sons Lewis J. “Jeff” Davis and John F. “John John” Davis.
Surviving include his wife of 60 years, Elsie L. Davis, of Trenton; son James H. Davis Jr. of Trenton; son Joe (Diane) Davis of Marine City, Mich.; son Jerry (Lori) Davis of Trenton; daughter Cathy Combs of Trenton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Bonnie Philps and Linda VanWamer, both of Madison Heights, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel with Rev. Johnny Wooten officiating. Interment will be in the Davis Family Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 1-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday at Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton, Georgia.
