Gene Wallin, 72, of Rising Fawn, died Tuesday morning, January 2, 2018. He had retired from Wallin Roofing and Wallin Drilling. He had also been self-employed as the owner of the Rising Fawn Café and had assisted in Valley Diesel. He was a member of Rising Fawn Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond “Kick” and Aline Forester Wallin, and brother rothers Rex Wallin and Gary Wallin.

Surviving include his children, Deanna Renda of Naples, Fla., and Jeremy Wallin of Trenton; grandchildren, Jared and Kelsey Lipman, Jacob, Hayley, Casey and Shelly Wallin; brothers Jack Wallin, Frank Wallin and Phillip Wallin; ex-wife and mother to his children, Sue Scammell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, January 6, at Rising Fawn Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Crider officiating. Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery.

Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Friday at Ryan Funeral Home and 11 a.m.-noon Saturday at Rising Fawn Baptist Church.
