Earl Drayton Holmes Jr., 80, of Trenton, died Thursday, January 11, 2018. He was a pharmacist for Winn-Dixie. He was a member of Sand Mountain United Methodist Church and the Gideons. He was a past director of the Tri-State Food Pantry and a certified lay minister.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Holmes, and parents, Earl and Frieda Holmes Sr. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Margarette Holmes; daughters, Patricia (Anthony) Hagan of Ooltewah, Tenn., Lisa M. (Billy) Snyder of Chattanooga and Samantha S. Skipper of Ringgold; granddaughter, Stefanee S. (Joseph) Page, Trenton; sons, Earl D. (Christine) Holmes III and David P. Holmes, both of Chattanooga; sister, Frieda E. Lurie, Leominister, Mass.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, at Sand Mountain United Methodist Church with Pastor Larry Williams and Wayne Cook officiating. Burial will be in Browns Gap Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday 1-2 p.m.
