Sharon Walker Payne of Chattanooga died Saturday, January 14, 2018. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed writing, painting, gardening and spending time with her family. She had a very creative mind and a love for beautiful things. She approached every battle with strength, determination and a very positive outlook even on the most stormy days. She blessed us with a beautiful smile and a selfless loving heart.
She was a 1961 graduate of Central High School. She was co-owner of Outdoor Ventures LTD, which managed recreation on Tellico Reserve for state and federal agencies.
She was proceeded in death by her youngest son, Jason Walker Downer, mother, Orene (Renee) Walker, father, Ewing Davis Walker, and sister, Vicki Walker Coverdale.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Steven Payne; son, Jeffrey Jackson (Christine) Downer; daughter, Lisa Downer (Michael) Murphy; sisters, Linda Walker (Brad) Davis and Alice Faye Walker (Butch) Crowther; stepson Skip (Briana) Payne; stepdaughter Stephanie (Shane) Painter; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 17, from 4-8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton, Ga..
