Oma Roach



Oma Elnora Guffey Roach, 81, died on Monday, March 5, 2018. She was loved and adored by her family, friends, friends and acquaintances. She was a member of Georgia Avenue Holiness Church and helped many generations come to God.

From her birth in Cullman, Ala., on June 24, 1936, she was a woman of God, and she walked in God’s favor all of her life. Oma was a pillar of strength for her family. She sang and led the way throughout many life events. She will be dearly missed throughout many future generations.

She was preceded in death by her husband and treasured love, John Lewis Roach; her dearly loved mother, Katie Bell Guffey; and siblings Vester Guffey, Wanda Lee Moon and infant sister, Dorothy Nell.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy R. Roach and Donna K. (Kenneth) Troxell; three grandchildren, Aimee (Levon) Curington, Jennifer (William) Love and Matthew Troxell; five great-grandchildren, Michael Graham, Asthon Love, Abeni Curington, Lucas Troxell and Audrey Love; one expected great- grandbaby; siblings Lulu Bell Bowen and Millard Franklin Guffey.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. EST Friday, March 9, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie Case and Brother Rick Michaels officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

Psalm 48:14 “For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.”

Visitation will be Thursday 4-8 p.m. and Friday 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
