George Donald Smith of Tracy City, Tenn., died today, Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Nashville VA Hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran and of the Presbyterian faith. He was born and raised in Lookout Valley, moving to Tracy City in later years. He was a 60-year member of the local Masonic lodge and he loved hunting, fishing and genealogy.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Smith; mother and stepfather, Scyleda and Alex Serkowski; aunt and uncle, Ola and George Tinker; and cousin Amy Bryson.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Carver Smith; daughter, Bridgett McBryar; son, Kevin Smith; grandchildren, Cody Keller and Jodie McBryar; and great-grandchildren, Brodie McBryar and Brynna Blakley.
Visitation will be Friday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday 2-3 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home with Masonic rites.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. EDT Saturday, April 14, at Maxwell Gap Cemetery, Flat Rock, Alabama
