Martila Townson

Martila Townson, 87, of Bryant, Ala., born April 16, 1931, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018. She was a member of Straightway Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Townson, her parents, George and Hattie Holder, and other family members.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Blevins, and adopted daughter, Vicky Townson, both of Bryant; grandson, Brian (Rosie) Blevins, South Pittsburg, Tenn.; great-granddaughter, Madelyn Blevins; great-grandson, Ethan Blevins; step-great-granddaughter, Madison Hensley, all of South Pittsburg; one brother, George Holder, Bryant; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws; nieces, nephews, and various other family members.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Bone officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Friday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.-2 p.m. EDT.
