Derace Holmes



Derace Lamar Holmes, 76, of Trenton, died at his residence this morning, Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018.

Mr. Holmes was a retired electrician for TVA, Widows Creek Power Plant. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of IBEW local 175 of Chattanooga, Trenton Masonic Lodge #179 F&AM and Saint Elmo United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton Earl and Lettie Mae Oliver Holmes; wife, Loretta Ann Holmes; and brother David Holmes.

Surviving include his wife, Brenda Sue Holmes of Trenton; daughter, Selina (Mark) Gill of Wildwood; son Daniel (Tammy) Holmes of Chattanooga; son Caleb (Ashlyn) of Trenton; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; stepdaughter Beverly Floyd of Trenton; stepsons Jeff and Greg Mitchell, both of Trenton; and adopted son Mark Patterson of Trenton.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, in the chapel with Rev. Darrell Davenport officiating. Interment will follow in Sarah Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton, Ga.
